A complemental measure for strengthening the scientific performance is the implementation of core facilities that provide resources for shared cross-institutional use and to external partners.

The DFG-funded Center for Translational Imaging bundles the imaging activities of the Medical Faculty (see below) and from other faculties.

The core facility offers expertise in the field of molecular imaging including research design, data analysis and interpretation.

The core facility provides access to small animal MRI (Bruker BioSpec with a field strength of 11.7T) and a micro CT scanner.
