  • Who is eligible for Master Online Program Advanced Oncology?
  • When do I have to apply?

    Applications must be received by Ulm University between December 1st and April 30th every year.

  • Which documents do I need to submit?

    The following documents are to be submitted as pdf files via the online application system:

    • College or university degree in medicine or natural sciences, which shows the overall grade point average (if the diploma does not give the overall grade point average, please submit the transcript of records of the degree exams).
    • Physicians: verification (for example, job reference letter) of at least one year of professional experience in oncology; Natural Scientists: verification of at least two years of professional experience in oncology.
    • Proof of a sufficient command of the English language (e.g. TOEFL).
    • Letter of motivation in which you should explain why you believe you are eligible for this program and how and why it will support your intended career.
    • Curriculum vitae with list of publications (if applicable).
  • Where should I send my application?

    The application documents must be submitted via our online application system  until April 30th.

  • How are the seats in the study program allocated?
    • First step: Pre-selection according to Bachelor overall grade point average and additional qualification.
    • Second step: Personal interviews with the applicants by video conference (SKYPE).


  • How much is the study fee?

    The study fee is 4,875 € per semester plus 166,50 € administrative fee per semester. The duration of the study program is 4 semesters, i.e. tuition amounts to a total of 19,500 € for the entire study program. These fees include all costs for the 7 modules (including master's thesis supervision), tutorial guidance, online conferences, exams and master thesis. Travel, living expenses and accommodation costs during the 5 attendance seminars are not included in the fee. For full board an amount of about 100 € per day should be calculated.

  • Is it possible to pay the study fee by installments?

    After prior agreement it is possible to pay the study fee by installments.

  • Is it possible to get a fellowship?

    Under exceptional circumstances Ulm University and its partners do grant one (or max. two) fellowship(s) for the Master Online Program. The application for a fellowship is handled separately from the application for the program itself. If you would like to apply for a fellowship, you must enclose a separate application letter for a fellowship in your program application.



Master's Thesis

  • Which facts should I know about the Master's Thesis?

    In general, the Master's Thesis is a theoretical essay on a topic related to one of the program’s modules of the student's choice. It is possible to integrate a research setting, but this is not mandatory. The timeframe to write the thesis may not exceed 6 months.

    Throughout the course of studies, you will be provided with all tools to accomplish this challenge, and you will be gently guided.

  • Is it possible to collaborate with a laboratory in Ulm during the Master's Thesis?

    Depending on the cooperation of a laboratory in Ulm, this is basically feasible. It is possible to introduce students to the director of a department (e.g. pathology, experimental tumor research…), in order to establish a personal contact. However, further commitment is subject to the individual decision of department directors.
